P-5 : Terceira Tentativa !

Pesquisando os grupos de Makers, o próprio BB-8 Club e Facebook, descobri que eu poderia fazer os painéis externos usando EVA, um material bem fácil de trabalhar, encontrar e de preços bem mais acessíveis.

Bora aprender a mexer com EVA, Youtube !

Parecia bem fácil e os resultados estavam bem acima do que eu esperei. Fiquei empolgado pois era a solução para esse estágio atual do desenvolvimento.

Cortei todos os triângulos e painéis circulares.

Tive que aprender algumas técnicas ninjas, com estiletes, desenhos, etc.

Então, usando a hotgun, fiz as peças se moldarem à bola de fibra.

Depois, colei o EVA na bola e comecei a trabalhar na pintura.

Utilizei várias latas de spray, tintas diversas, primer, verniz. O resultado ficou bem legal.

Colei as partes prontas na bola e esperei uns 2 dias, foi quando percebi que o EVA tinha 2 problemas sérios : a tinta após a secagem, ficava quebradiça e trincava ao longo de toda a superfície da peça ; como o EVA é macio , ele é frágil e qualquer saliência no solo, deixa marcas por toda a superfície do BB.

Para essa tentativa, foram gastos R$ 85,00 em EVA e R$ 120,00 em tintas spray.

Foi então que percebi...na tentativa de simplificar e reduzir custos, as 3 tentativas foram apenas gastos desnecessários e vários meses de trabalho perdido.

Eu realmente não sabia o que fazer...

Third Try!

It seemed very easy and the results were well above what I expected. I got excited !

I cut all triangles and circular panels.

I had to learn some ninja techniques, with blades, drawings, etc.

Then, using the hotgun, I made the pieces mold to the fiber ball.

Then I put the EVA on the ball and started working on the painting.

I used several cans of spray, various inks, primer, varnish. The result was very cool.

I glued the ready parts on the ball and waited a couple of days, when I realized that EVA had two serious problems: the paint after drying became brittle and cracked along the entire surface of the piece; as EVA is soft, it is fragile and any protrusion on the ground, leaves marks all over the surface of the BB.

For this attempt, we spent R $ 85,00 in EVA and R $ 120,00 in spray inks.

It was then that I realized ... in an attempt to simplify and reduce costs, the 3 attempts were just unnecessary expenses and several months of lost work.

I really did not know what to do ...
